AKH collaborates with Joint Providers to identify accredited CME activities to register in ABIM’s MOC program. AKH will also consider collaboration with the ABMS MOC Member Board as well as those of other Medical Specialty Boards that seek outside sources for their diplomats. Maintenance of Certification points enhance the value of accredited activities to learners and broaden the marketing reach for Providers and Joint Providers alike.
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare as an ACCME Accredited-Provider can apply for ABIM MOC (Part 2) for qualifying activities through the ACCME PARS system. Activities with ABIM MOC point(s) will be listed on the ACCME’s CME Finder and linked out from the ABIM MOC home page. All activities will be labeled with the ABIM CME/MOC Logo and will have the MOC Statement.
“Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to [XX] MOC points [and patient safety MOC credit] in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.”
The ABMS/AAMC have created a seamless process to help member board diplomates easily find CME-accredited activities that fulfill Parts II and IV for the various specialties they support. They have created an application process for submission, whereby multiple boards can work collaboratively. Once completed the application will be presented to the targeted ABMS member boards for MOC approval.
