Activity Overview
The San Diego Dermatology Symposium (SDDS) seeks to educate healthcare professionals, who treat skin diseases, regarding emerging research and treatment updates for alopecia areata, acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
Target Audience
This conference has been designed for dermatologists, dermatology residents, primary care physicians, physicians, physician assistants and nurses involved in the care of patients with skin diseases
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Emphasize social, financial, and emotional burden associated with acne.
- Describe the mechanism of action and clinical evidence of emerging therapies for acne.
- Review established acne treatments.
- Discuss strategies to reduce acne scars.
- Discuss treatments for psoriasis and how to choose between them.
- Evaluate older and newer therapies for atopic dermatitis.
- Assess the various therapies available for acne and rosacea.
- Discuss therapeutic options for hidradenitis suppurativa.
- Discuss therapeutic options for actinic keratosis.
- Discuss the medical and surgical treatments for basal cell carcinoma.
- Discuss the medical and surgical treatments for squamous cell carcinoma.
- Discern different lesions with dermoscopy.
- Identify viral, bacterial, and fungal infections of the skin.
- Evaluate lesions and rashes in kids.
- Assess blistering disorders and treatment options.
- Discuss disorders of the hair, nails, and vulva.
Criteria for Success
