Bowen Therapy Basics
This foundation course introduces healthcare and rehab professionals to the core principles and practice of the Bowen Technique. Taught by Bowen Therapy expert John Wilks, the course emphasizes a gentle, non-invasive approach to manual therapy that stimulates the body’s
self-regulating mechanisms through subtle fascial and neurological input.
Participants will learn key Bowen procedures and how to apply them in a structured yet adaptable way to support a wide range of conditions—including musculoskeletal pain, tension patterns, and stress-related dysfunction. The method’s unique reliance on pauses, light touch, and strategic sequencing offers an effective alternative or complement to more forceful manual therapies.
You will explore the theoretical basis of Bowen therapy, including its effect on the autonomic nervous system and fascial system, while developing confidence in delivering precise and responsive treatments. Whether you are new to hands-on work or an experienced therapist looking to add a lighter approach to your toolkit, this course offers lasting clinical value.
