Contouring with Deoxycholic acid
Contouring with Deoxycholic Acid at Aesthetic Mentor is an elective course for medical professionals interested in learning the safe and effective injection of deoxycholic acid, for the reduction of fat in the submental (double chin) area. Integrating these treatments into aesthetic business can benefit both existing patients and a practice’s success.
Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body that breaks down dietary fats. When administered via multiple subcutaneous injections, deoxycholic acid begins working instantly to break down fat cells and its proprietary formula continues to prevent future fat cells from forming in the treatment area.
Target Audience
This course is designed for dentists, nurses, physicians assistants, physicians holding an active and unrestricted medical license in their field of practice. No previous experience in medical aesthetics is required.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the mechanism of action of deoxycholic acid.
- Identify anatomical landmarks for injections with deoxycholic acid in submental fat.
- Demonstrate the proper injection techniques for deoxycholic acid into submental fat.
- Identify side effects or adverse events.
