NATIONAL ACCREDITATIONS

We hold multiple national accreditation/approval statuses, which allow us to offer accredited CE for all members of the interprofessional healthcare team.

AKH works with accredited and non-accredited organizations to offer accredited CE for the following audiences:

PHYSICIANS, PHARMACISTS, and NURSES
In support of improving patient care, AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS/ASSOCIATES
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria.

 

NURSE PRACTITIONERS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is accredited by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as an approved provider of nurse practitioner continuing education. Provider number: 030803.

SOCIAL WORKERS
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.

DENTISTS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to the Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition at ADA.org/CERP.

OPTOMETRISTS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is accredited by the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry's Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (ARBO/COPE) to provide continuing education to optometrists.

 

PSYCHOLOGISTS
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibly for the content of the programs.

DIETITIANS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is a Continuing Professional Education Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). 

 

ATHLETIC TRAINERS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare (BOC AP#: JA0007034) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs).

In addition to our national accreditations, AKH has multiple state approvals, which can greatly increase the value of accredited continuing education by expanding the target audiences who can be reached.

AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is approved by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling (provider #50-2560).

FL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is approved by the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy (provider #50-2560).

FL PHYSICAL THERAPISTS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is a Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA) approved course provider (provider #50-2560).

NY SOCIAL WORKERS
AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is an approved provider through the New York Education Department Continuing Education Provider #SW-0233. Valid 9/4/2024 – 9/30/2027

NY PSYCHOLOGISTS
AKH, Inc. Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists PSY 0290. Valid 4/29/2025 – 4/30/2028

OTHER PROFESSIONALS
All other healthcare professionals may receive a Certificate of Attendance, which may be submitted to some licensing boards to satisfy CE requirements.

OTHER APPROVALS

Are you looking to offer accredited continuing education for a target audience not listed in our accreditations and state board listings? AKH extends the audience of some of our programs by seeking and obtaining course approvals from specialty boards.

Many specialty boards retain responsibility for the quality of the CE offered to the professionals they serve. AKH will submit individual CE activities for review and approval when the following target audiences are desired:

  • Certified Case Managers – Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC)
  • Certified Nurse Anesthetists – American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
  • Long-Term Care Administrators – National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB)
  • Nurse Midwives – The American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)
  • Clinical Social Workers – National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
