A.A. van de Loosdrecht passed Medical School (cum laude) in 1989 at VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He received his PhD graduation (cum laude) in 1993. From 2000, he is a staff member and since 2012 a full professor of hematology at the department of Hematology, Amsterdam UMC. Research is focused on immunopathogenesis of MDS/AML and the development of leukemic dendritic cell vaccines and implementation of flow cytometry in MDS diagnostics including the role of MRD in myeloid neoplasm. He initiated the ELN platform on flowcytometry in MDS. He is co-chair of the SWG of EHA on Immunotherapy in hematological malignancies, board member of the SWG of EHA on MDS and member of the I4MDS WG. He is board member within the HOVON-SAKK-Nordics collaborative clinical trial group and chair of the Dutch MDS WG responsible for diagnostic, clinical trial developments and implementation of MDS guidelines.
