Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses and allied health professionals working directly within medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic, and cosmetic surgery.
Learning Objectives
- Identify key principles of functional and anti-aging medicine, including hormone balance, nutrition, and lifestyle, and incorporate them into aesthetic treatment plans to enhance patient outcomes.
- Identify critical facial anatomical structures, tissue planes, and vasculature, recognize danger zones, and apply this knowledge to safe, precise injections and thread-lifting techniques.
- Apply ultrasound imaging to locate vessels and vital structures, enhance injection precision, reduce risks, and manage adverse events.
- Review biostimulatory and biorevitalizing therapies, including injection techniques, treatment protocols, and complication management to optimize skin and tissue regeneration.
- Identify common complications of aesthetic procedures, evaluate case studies, and implement preventive and reactive strategies to maintain safety.
- Understand injectable products for body contouring, injection techniques, combination with non-invasive therapies, and setting realistic patient expectations.
- Evaluate skin quality across all types, including skin of color, and integrate topical agents, energy-based devices, and injectables into safe, evidence-based combination protocols.
- Review regenerative modalities such as stem cells, PRP, exosomes, and polynucleotides, differentiate validated from emerging approaches, and integrate them safely into practice.
- Evaluate nonsurgical treatments for periorbital, lower face, and neck rejuvenation, including patient selection, combination protocols, and complication prevention.
- Analyze emerging laser, microneedling, and muscle stimulation technologies and their multi-dimensional, combination, and clinical applications for face and body.
- Examine evidence-based treatments and nonsurgical procedures for sexual health and genital aesthetics, integrating functional and aesthetic outcomes and managing complications.
- Evaluate hair restoration modalities, patient selection, combination strategies, and emerging technologies with practical implementation and outcome assessment.
- Review the role of key hormones in aging, bioidentical hormone therapy, and clinical considerations for safely integrating hormone optimization into aesthetic practice.
- Understand the link between nutrition, gut health, and immune function with skin quality and treatment response, and apply lifestyle strategies to enhance outcomes.
- Learn sequencing, timing, and combination strategies for treatments to optimize results, safety, and patient satisfaction across demographics and skin types.
- Apply peptide therapy and epigenetic insights to guide individualized, outcome-driven aesthetic protocols.
- Develop consultation, practice management, financial, marketing, and communication strategies to improve patient trust, retention, and practice success.
- Understand ideal male and female facial proportions, emerging trends, anatomical and lifestyle influences on aging, and tailor consultations and treatments accordingly.
- Understand basic facial anatomy, proportions, and aging changes.
- Learn fundamentals of neurotoxins, fillers, lasers, threads, and body shaping.
- Recognize key considerations for treating diverse skin types and skin of color.
