Elena Bitrian M.D., M.S., is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, who specializes in adult and pediatric glaucoma surgery. She is the Glaucoma Fellowship Program Director and the Associate Residency Program Director for Surgical Competency at Bascom Palmer in Miami. Dr. Bitrian is also the Director of Education for the Balkan International Pediatric Glaucoma Center and one of the editors of the textbook Surgical Techniques in Childhood Glaucoma and the compendium on Childhood Glaucoma. She has received multiple awards in Ophthalmology education such as the Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, Teacher of the Year at Mayo Clinic and teacher of the Year at Bascom Palmer.
