Sarah Wellik, MD

Dr. Sarah Wellik earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences, graduating cum laude from the University of California, Irvine. She remained at the University of California, Irvine for her M.D. and went on to complete an internal medicine internship at Yale University and an ophthalmology residency at Boston University. Dr. Wellik finally completed fellowship in clinical glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami.
She is currently a Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and serves as the medical director of the glaucoma service at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami. Dr. Wellik maintains a busy clinical practice and is actively involved in medical education. She is a strong advocate for ophthalmology at the local and state levels through her work with the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wellik has received numerous honors, including the Leadership Award and the AAO Secretariat Award. She has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications with particular interest in glaucoma surgical outcomes and use of informatics to improve glaucoma clinical care.
