Dr. Tijerina is currently a Fellow in Glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. He previously completed residency at Bascom Palmer and was selected to be the institute's inaugural Anterior Segment Chief in the year prior to fellowship. Dr. Tijerina completed medical school at Stanford University and undergraduate as well as graduate degrees in Biology at Baylor University. He has as special interest in creative problem solving, ophthalmic imaging, and surgical technique development. He was awarded a Heed Foundation fellowship and Bascom Palmer's Outstanding Resident Researcher Award, has had multiple images featured on the cover of Ophthalmology, and is currently doing what he loves in sharing interesting ophthalmic cases as a Doximity Clinical Case Fellow.
