Jalpa Devi, MBBS

Dr. Jalpa Devi is a gastroenterologist with advanced training and a focused academic interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She completed her medical education and postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, followed by an advanced IBD fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she is involved in both clinical care and research.
Her scholarly work centers on real-world outcomes of advanced IBD therapies, perianal Crohn’s disease, obesity and cardiometabolic comorbidities in IBD, and global disparities in IBD care, with a particular emphasis on low- and middle-income countries. She has led and co-led multiple multicenter observational studies, systematic reviews, consensus initiatives, and global surveys, and serves in leadership roles within international gastroenterology organizations, including Women in GI and emerging leadership committees.
Dr. Devi is also actively engaged in innovation at the intersection of gastroenterology and artificial intelligence, with interests spanning clinical decision support, imaging, and health systems research. She is a frequent peer reviewer for high-impact journals and is committed to mentorship, education, and advancing equitable, evidence-based IBD care globally.
