Sandra Quezada, MD, MS, AGAF

Sandra M. Quezada, M.D., M.S., AGAF is Associate Dean for Admissions and Associate Dean for Health Strategy and Engagement at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and her practice and research interests center on delivering high-quality, equitable inflammatory bowel disease care. She is Special Section Editor for the Gastroenterology journal, and until 2025 Co-Principal Investigator for the NIH R-25 funded AGA FORWARD Program providing career development opportunities for early career gastroenterologists. She is a National Board Trustee for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
Dr. Quezada received her undergraduate degree from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and GI fellowship training at the University of Maryland and Baltimore VA Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Quezada obtained a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition at the Institute of Human Nutrition at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health in Baltimore.
She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Healio Disruptive Innovator Award, and the AAMC Northeast Group on Student Affairs Outstanding Service Award. She is a 2025-2026 Fellow of the prestigious Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program at Drexel University College of Medicine.
