Rhea Sancassani, MD, FACC

Dr. Rhea Sancassani is a mid-career cardiologist who completed her training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. She currently practices in Miami, Florida as a general, non-invasive cardiologist for Jackson Medical Group Cardiology. Dr. Sancassani has expertise in cardiovascular evaluation and management of patients prior to solid organ transplantation (liver, multivisceral, intestinal, and dual organ liver-kidney), where she has led the program since 2013. She has a strong commitment to resident and fellow education and mentorship, serving on the Cardiology Fellowship recruitment committee, the Clinical Competency Committee for the cardiovascular disease fellowship program, an Executive Mentor for tohe Cardiology Pathway within the Internal Medicine residency, and serving as Chair of the Cardiology Imaging Curriculum. Her passion for championing an increase in representation of women in cardiology has led her to be the current Chair of the Women in Cardiology Committee for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Here, along with her team, she developed the CardioConnect Dinner Program to encourage female medical students and internal medicine residents to pursue a career in cardiology. In addition to her work, Dr. Sancassani is a wife and mother to 2 wonderful sons, Lucas and Myles, an avid University of Miami football fanatic, a Miami Heat devotee, and a lover of tasting menus.
