Biographic Sketch: Hugh H. Windom, MD
Dr. Windom received his undergraduate and medical degree from Duke University, completed an Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital, and finished an Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Prior to his fellowship training he did a year of clinical research in Wellington, New Zealand under Dr. Richard Beasley. He returned to Sarasota to open his private practice and serve on the clinical faculty at University of South Florida in 1992.
Within his Windom Allergy Asthma & Sinus practice he is the Medical Director of the Food Allergy Center of Florida and Sarasota Clinical Research Center. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at USF and serves on the clinical faculty at Florida State University College of Medicine as well. He has served on the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology Board of Directors, is a past president of the Sarasota County Medical Society, and a member of the Florida Medical Association.
Dr. Windom expanded his solo practice in 2014 with the addition of Jean Ly, a graduate of the All Children’s USF Allergy Immunology program, followed in 2016 with another USF graduate, Jennifer Fergeson, and finally, Neha Dunn, a graduate of National Jewish Hospital, joined the group in 2023.
Together with his wife, Anne, they raised four children and are now enjoying the early fruit of seven grandchildren.
