Dr. Paul D. Mahoney is Section Chief of Interventional Cardiology, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and Director of Structural Heart Programs at East Carolina University Health / Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. He is a nationally recognized leader in structural and interventional cardiology with extensive expertise in transcatheter valve therapies, complex coronary intervention, and advanced structural heart disease management.

Dr. Mahoney previously served as System Director of Structural Heart Programs at Sentara Heart Hospital and has held numerous national leadership roles within the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), including Co-Chair of the Structural Heart Committee. He has served on steering committees and case review committees for many landmark structural heart trials involving TAVR, mitral and tricuspid interventions, and left atrial appendage therapies.

An internationally recognized educator, investigator, and proctor, Dr. Mahoney has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, The Lancet, and New England Journal of Medicine, and is a frequent invited faculty member and speaker at major cardiovascular meetings including Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, American College of Cardiology Scientific Session, and Cardiovascular Research Technologies.
