Arnab Ghosh, MD, MSc, MA is a physician-social scientist based at Weill Cornell in NYC. His work focuses on extreme weather, health, and health equity, and specifically seeks to build community-informed interventions to protect against these threats. He is a trained environmental epidemiologist and health services researcher who uses quantitative and qualitative methods to do this. His work includes the development and employment of heat risk prediction models using healthcare data, the development of early warning systems against hurricanes, and other hydrometeorological threats, and is actively working alongside NYC agencies to utilize the urban forest as a tool of heat adaptation. His research is funded by the NIH, NSF, and various foundations. He was the 2023-2024 NIA/NIH’s Health and Extreme Weather Scholar, is an Emerging Leader in Medicine selected by the National Academy of Medicine (2025-2028), serves on the NASEM Net Zero Transformational Roadmap Committee, and sits on the Stakeholder and Technical Advisory Board for the NYC Master Urban Forest Plan. He is a program director for the inaugural Graduate Medical Education Distinction in Climate, Health, and Sustainability run  jointly by Columbia-Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital – the first GME education program for climate and health in the US. He is a practising internist and emergency physician and serves as a Medical Officer for NY-2 as part of the Disaster Medical Assistance Teams on behalf of the Federal National Disaster Medical System.
