Abraham Carle-Calo, PhD Candidate

PhD candidate in Biomedicine with a research focus on exercise-based interventions for metabolic and chronic diseases, including diabetes, obesity, and aging-related conditions.
His work explores how exercise can be optimized, standardized, and scaled through the integration of digital health technologies, objective monitoring systems, and innovative training methodologies.
He has contributed to research on whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) as a time-efficient and clinically relevant intervention, particularly in populations with limited exercise capacity.
His broader research interests include the use of sensor-based technologies to improve the assessment and prescription of exercise, as well as the interaction between physical activity, pharmacological treatments, and metabolic health.
In parallel with his academic work, he collaborates with industry to develop and implement health and fitness technologies, with a focus on translating scientific knowledge into scalable, real-world solutions.
