Kristine L. Profeta, MD
Dr. Kristine Profeta is a pioneering physician, thought leader, and the founder of two major medical institutes in Morristown, NJ. Renowned for her expertise in precision medicine, epigenetics, mitochondrial health, and the microbiome, she has empowered nearly 8,000 patients to reclaim their health from a wide range of complex, chronic illnesses, including neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME), Lyme disease, and other tick-borne diseases.
Over her 20 years of practice, Dr. Profeta has developed a unique approach to diagnosis and treatment, leveraging advanced data-driven methods to address the root causes of disease at the cellular and epigenetic levels.
Dr. Profeta received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University. She earned her medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University and completed a surgical internship at Cornell University in New York City, followed by a residency in Family Practice at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. After her own health journey, she pursued a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and is board-certified in both Family Practice and Integrative Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Profeta graduated from the General Management Program at Harvard Business School, further strengthening her leadership and business acumen.
Dr. Profeta is an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center, a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers NJMS, and a board member of the Forum for Integrative Medicine. Her contributions to the medical field have been recognized through numerous honors, including being named one of New Jersey’s Top Doctors three times.
In 2018, she published her first book, A Nation of Unwell, which won the following awards:
