Dr. Brittain Heindl is an employed general cardiologist at the Huntsville Hospital Heart Center. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Southern Mississippi and earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

He completed internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), followed by three years as faculty at the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He then returned to UAB for cardiology fellowship and completed a T32 fellowship in outcomes research.

Dr. Heindl is a member of the Education Committee and teaches residents in the UAB Huntsville internal medicine and family medicine residency programs. He co-hosts a monthly Heart Center journal club for physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical pharmacists, and UAB residents.
