Dr. Patrick McElgunn is a board-certified dermatologist in the US and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Dr. McElgunn has practised both general medical and surgical, dermatology, laser and cosmetic dermatology for 44 years. He was in private practice in Canada from 1982-2002,  an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions from 2002-2006 where he was the developer, director of and teacher at the Johns Hopkins Cosmetic Center, and as a partner at Piedmont Plastic Surgery and Dermatology in Charlotte North Carolina since 2002. Dr. McElgunn has an MBA and has an interest in the business aspects of the practice of medicine including the use of artificial intelligence.

Dr. McElgunn sees patients of all ages with all dermatology conditions. He is experienced in the use of biologic drugs for psoriasis, eczema and other dermatologic diseases. He is also experienced in the cosmetic use of Botox and other botulinum toxins, fillers, laser treatment of dermatologic conditions including cosmetic ones and sclerotherapy.

Dr. McElgunn is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Canadian Dermatology Association as well as several other medical professional organizations. He has received awards for service to the Canadian Dermatology Association, Teacher of the Year at Johns Hopkins Department of Dermatology and Practitioner of the Year at the University of Toronto Department of Dermatology.
