Michael Czapka, MD

Michael Czapka is an infectious disease doctor at University of Chicago, who specializes in treating and preventing infections in immunocompromised adults. Dr. Czapka provides care for people before and after organ transplants, chemotherapy and cellular therapies, with particular expertise managing fungal and viral infections.
Along with his dedication to his patients, Dr. Czapka is actively involved in clinical trials for new drugs and vaccines targeted towards difficult-to-treat infections in these populations. He also studies infections in CAR T-cell recipients and leads quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Czapka serves on the institutional ethics review board for clinical research.
