Dr. Jordan R. Plews is an innovator in biotechnology and stem cell research, recognized for his contributions to regenerative medicine, somatic cell reprograaming, and medical aesthetics. He graduated with 1st class honors in Biochemical Engineering & Bioprocess Design from the University of London and earned his doctorate in Molecular Biology & Stem Cell Research from University College London (UCL). His doctoral work, funded by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), focused on somatic cell reprogramming and induced pluripotency​​​​, effectively the study of de-aging cells on the cellular and molecular level.

Dr. Plews began his career at Pfizer, working in the Bioprocess Development Group on bioprocess optimization. He then completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University, contributing to projects applying stem cell research to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cellular repair mechanisms​​​​. He later integrated his scientific expertise with business acumen by completing the Ignite program at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

His professional journey includes significant roles at leading biotech organizations. At Becton Dickinson, Dr. Plews helped develop and commercialize tools for cell analysis, cell & gene therapy, and reviewed potential strategic acquisition targets. As Chief Scientific Officer at Xytogen Biotech, he spearheaded the development of stem cell-based skincare products and established a fully-functional stem cell culture and large scale cell production laboratory​​. At Natera, he launched Signatera, Natera’s first oncology product, a personalized cancer diagnostic based on next generation sequencing​​​​. 

In 2020, Dr. Plews co-founded ELEVAI Labs Inc, which focused on developing advanced skincare solutions and leveraging the latest in biotechnology, including human stem cell exosomes to contribute towards human longevity and healthspan. Under his leadership, ELEVAI joined the Nasdaq under the ticker ELAB in Nov 2023 and was sold to Carmell Therapeutics in Jan 2025.

Dr. Plews' currently resides on the scientific advisory boards for multiple companies in the regenerative medicine and longevity space and his research has been published in several prestigious journals including Nature Methods and the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. He's also the author of "Feed Your Good Genes" and a variety of chapters in regenerative medicine related texts. His work emphasizes the relationship between stem cells, aging, and disease, advocating for a deeper understanding of disease and dysfunction at the cellular and molecular levels to enhance healthy lifespan​​​​​​.
