Dr. Mary Jordan is a board-certified Acute Care Surgeon and Surgical Intensivist with specialized expertise as a Spinal Access Surgeon, collaborating closely with spine surgeons to facilitate safe and efficient anterior and lateral spinal approaches. She holds academic appointments at Atrium Health and Wake Forest School of Medicine.

Dr. Jordan completed her medical education and general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center. She is board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Clinically, her practice focuses on anterior spinal exposure, complex spinal access, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care, with particular attention to operative safety, minimally invasive techniques, and perioperative optimization for high-risk patients. She is an active member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, reflecting her ongoing commitment to spine-related surgical innovation and collaboration.

Academically, Dr. Jordan is an accomplished educator and clinical researcher, recognized with multiple teaching awards. Her scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications on surgical outcomes, trauma and critical care innovation, and quality improvement, with an emphasis on data-driven system performance and patient safety.

She serves in leadership roles on institutional credentials, trauma, and surgical critical care quality committees and remains actively engaged in national surgical societies, contributing to education, quality standards, and multidisciplinary care advancement.
