Suephy C. Chen is the Chief of Dermatology Services, North Region and Professor at the Thomas Jefferson Health System. She is also a staff physician with the Veterans Administration since 2000. Prior to Jefferson, she was the Chair of Dermatology at Duke University and Vice Chair at Emory University.  She is an internationally recognized health services researcher with focus in cutaneous melanoma and pigmented lesions as well as teledermatology.  She was one of the pioneers to develop patient-reported quality of life instruments in order to study the burden of dermatologic conditions, most prominently, itch. She is a champion of AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islanders), having served as the inaugural executive sponsor of the Duke AAPI Affinity group.
