Victor Czerkasij, DNP, DCNP, FNP-C, CWCP

"Victor Czerkasij, DNP, DCNP, FNP-C, CWCP, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice in dermatology
and a senior provider at Skin Cancer & Cosmetic Dermatology, a multi-site practice where he
has served for over 25 years in clinical dermatology and Mohs surgery. He has been a national
dermatology lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates (FHEA) since 2006 and
contributes to the dermatology chapter of the NP certification examination review volume.
Dr. Czerkasij is an adjoint faculty member at Vanderbilt University, where he received the
Graduate Research Award for his work in psoriasis, and his doctoral research focused on
innovative approaches to reducing pain in psoriatic arthritis. At Vanderbilt, he has helped create a
sub-specialty certification in dermatology for FNP’s. As a member of the Nurse Practitioner
Journal (NPJ) editorial board for over 20 years, he is dedicated to mentoring nurse practitioners
in dermatology and scholarship.
An author, speaker, writer, he has published extensively on multiple topics ranging from atopic
dermatitis to Hansen’s disease and conducted original research. As a member of a dozen
advisory boards, he has been influential in creating national guidelines working with the Society
of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (SDNP) and the Society of Dermatology Physician’s
Assistants (SDPA). He lectures at many primary care conferences each year for NP and PA's.
Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, Dr. Czerkasij has traveled tirelessly every six months to
provide medical care to wounded civilians and soldiers; work closely with surgical teams; and to
collaborate with the Ministry of Health on medication access and NP workforce development.
He is married to his wife, René, and they have two grown sons, a nurse and engineer.
