Dr. Perlis completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University before earning his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his dermatology residency and a fellowship in Mohs surgery and cutaneous oncology at Brown University, where he developed advanced expertise in skin cancer management and complex reconstructive surgery. A former Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Belle.ai and Editor Emeritus of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Perlis has been a leader at the intersection of clinical dermatology, research, and digital innovation. He maintains an active interest in developing and implementing new healthcare technologies, with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy, enhancing patient outcomes, and advancing the integration of AI in medical practice.
