Suur Biliciler, MD, is Professor of Neurology at UTHealthScience Center at Houston, McGovern Medical School, where she serves as Co-Director of the Myositis Clinic and Muscle and Nerve Pathology Laboratory. She is a neuromuscular specialist with board certification in neurology, neuromuscular medicine, muscle and nerve pathology, and electrodiagnostic medicine — a combination that places her at the interface of clinical assessment, electrophysiology, and myopathology.

Her clinical and research interests center on the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, the wider spectrum of myopathies, exercise in muscle disorders, and neuromuscular genetics. She has a particular interest in the role of muscle pathology in refining myositis diagnosis and in the multidisciplinary collaboration that this requires. She serves as principal investigator on several clinical trials in neuromuscular disease.
