Adam Mayer, MD, MSCE

Dr. Mayer is an Adult and Pediatric Rheumatologist at the Hackensack University Medical Center, Assistant Member of the Center for Discovery and Innovation at Hackensack Meridian Health and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Dr. Mayer completed his fellowship training in adult and pediatric rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and received his Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mayer's work, funded by the NIH, Rheumatology Research Foundation, Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN), and Spondylitis Association of America, centers on the earlier detection and optimal treatment of spondyloarthritis (SpA) in adult and pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Mayer serves as co-chair of the juvenile spondyloarthritis workgroup of the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance, member of the SPARTAN research committee, co-author on the upcoming American College of Rheumatology adult and juvenile axial spondyloarthritis guidelines, and site investigator for several multicenter prospective observational studies in spondyloarthritis.
