Minna Kohler, MD, RhMSUS is the Founder and Director of the Rheumatology Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, as well as Director of the Oncorheumatology Program. She serves as key faculty for the MGH Rheumatology Fellowship Program, the Spaulding Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program, and as adjunct faculty for the MGH Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship.

Her expertise centers on point-of-care ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures in the evaluation and management of arthritis, vasculitis, and other rheumatic diseases. Her clinical and research interests include psoriatic arthritis and spondyloarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, crystal arthritides, immune-checkpoint inhibitor related adverse events, cancer-associated arthritis, and osteoarthritis.

Dr. Kohler is a site principal investigator for multiple multicenter clinical trials investigating novel therapeutic approaches, including vagus nerve stimulation and CAR-T cell therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.

She is a leading educator and advocate for musculoskeletal ultrasound training through the American College of Rheumatology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR). She is immediate Past-President of USSONAR and continues to serve on its executive board, and is a faculty mentor and course director for multiple MSK and vasculitis ultrasound CME courses, including the inaugural Harvard MSK ultrasound and vasculitis CME programs. Dr. Kohler also  serves on the local Massachusetts Arthritis Foundation Board as its medical advisory chair.

Dr. Kohler is the editor of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Rheumatology Review (2nd edition) and co-author of the Clinical Atlas of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Rheumatology.
