Alex Zygmunt, MD is a child neurologist and neuromuscular specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with inherited and acquired neuromuscular disorders through an MDA-certified multidisciplinary neuromuscular center. Within his clinical practice, he places a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary care, medical education, and improving outcomes for patients with complex neuromuscular disease.

Dr. Zygmunt’s research focuses on Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies. He serves as site principal investigator for multiple neuromuscular clinical trials and has authored publications investigating longitudinal motor function measures, biomarkers, and genotype–phenotype relationships within dystrophinopathies. In addition to his clinical and research work, he is actively involved in trainee education and serves as Associate Program Director of the Child Neurology Residency Program at Cincinnati Children’s.
