Sandra Walker-Halliman, MSN, RN, VHA-CM, EBP-C has been at VHA for the past 9 years and DoD for 11 years. She currently serves as the HPDP Program Manager at Columbia VA Health Care System. She was awarded the Dept. of Veterans Affairs "Secretary's Award for Excellence in Nursing" in 2021 as a Facility and VISN 7 winner for "RN in an Expanded Role". In 2026, she received the prestigious South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award. She has written and been awarded several grants. Sandra has presented at VHA THREAD, 6th International Integrative Nursing Symposium, IHI Scientific Forum, NOVA Conference, Nursing World Conference, South Carolina Nursing Convention, VHA National Center for Prevention, and more. She maintains a focus on combatting organizational workforce burnout with HRO and well-being initiatives, health promotion disease prevention education for patients, and extending accessibility of care by community outreach to rural areas.
