Marcy Polk, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, LSSBB

Marcy Polk, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, is the VISN 20 Utilization Management Officer located in Vancouver, WA. She is also a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Marcy was the former Director of Quality, Safety, and Value at VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS). Before joining VAPORHCS, Marcy was the Chief of Organization Development and Education at Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) in Aurora, CO.
Marcy received her Doctor of Nurse Practice in Veteran & Military Health Care from the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, in December 2023.
Marcy's nursing career has been marked by numerous honors and awards, including the ECHCS 2020 VA Secretary's Award for Nursing Excellence Nominee, the 2020 Denver Nightingale Luminary Award nominee, and seven DAISY award nominations.
Outside her administrative duties, Marcy is a dedicated research member of the Patient Safety Center of Inquiry - Suicide Prevention Collaborative (PSCI-SPC). Her team's work, which includes two published articles in the past fiscal year, has significantly contributed to the field of veteran mental health. Marcy's commitment to improving veterans' healthcare is further demonstrated through her poster presentations at national conferences. In her personal life, Marcy values time with her large family, which includes 12 nieces and nephews and four siblings. She also enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest trails and food carts in her spare time.
