Shannon Fox-Levine, MD, FAAP
Dr. Shannon Fox-Levine is a pediatrician who currently serves as Regional Medical Director at Bluebird Kids Health, following the 2024 integration of Palm Beach Pediatrics, the 40-year-old practice with three locations that she previously owned. After completing her medical degree at the University of Maryland at Baltimore and pediatric training at Bellevue/NYU Hospital, she dedicated her career to providing exceptional comprehensive care while advocating for children at both local and national levels.
Dr. Fox-Levine specializes in integrating mental health services into primary pediatric care and has worked with the Center for Child Counseling for ten years, now serving as Medical Director where she promotes trauma-informed care and develops educational tools for primary care physicians. Her advocacy extends to improving payment systems for pediatric services through her leadership as former chair of the FCAAP Pediatric Council, where she notably negotiated a grant from a major health plan to subsidize consultation hours for Patient Centered Medical Home recognition for independently owned pediatric practices. She currently chairs the AAP Payer Advocacy and Advisory Committee to improve payment to pediatricians and reduce financial barriers to quality care.
Dr. Fox-Levine recently rejoined the board of the Florida Chapter of the AAP, where she first found her advocacy voice with the successful "Docs vs. Glocks" lawsuit against the State of Florida. Her contributions to pediatric care have earned numerous recognitions in 2023, including the FCAAP award for her Pediatric Council work, the Advanced Primary Care Practice Award from Primary Care Collaborative, the Physician Hero in Medicine of the Year from Palm Beach Medical Society, and being named one of the 100 Most Influential people in Palm Beach County.
