MDA Case Discussions: Navigating Diagnosis and Treatment Decisions in Myasthenia Gravis

September 17, 2026

This 1-hour interactive program will guide clinicians through real-world MG cases designed to strengthen diagnostic reasoning and treatment planning across diverse presentations. Led by a neurologist chair, the session will emphasize how to apply clinical clues and testing strategies to differentiate MG from alternative neuromuscular, neurologic, and systemic disorders. Participants will work through cases illustrating challenges such as early-stage or ocular-predominant disease, late-onset MG, seronegative presentations, crisis risk assessment, and response variability to immunotherapies.
Discussion will incorporate interpretation of antibody panels, repetitive nerve stimulation and single-fiber EMG results, pulmonary function testing, and assessment of treatment efficacy. Management content will address both acute and long-term strategies, including optimizing steroid-sparing regimens, integrating targeted biologics, and monitoring for adverse effects or disease exacerbation triggers.

Target Audience

The target audience for this program includes neurologists, neurology fellows and residents, and advanced practice providers involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with MG.

Learning Objectives

Apply diagnostic reasoning and testing strategies to MG cases with overlapping/atypical symptoms.
