Radica Alicic, MD, MSC, FHM, FACP, FASN

Radica Alicic, MD, MSc, FHM, FACP, FASN, is a practicing internist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Managing Director for Research at Providence Inland Northwest Washington in Spokane, Washington. She also holds clinical appointments as Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington and Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences at the Washington State University College of Medicine. Dr. Alicic earned her medical degree and Master of Science degree from the University of Sarajevo Medical School in Bosnia.

Dr. Alicic’s research focuses on developing and applying real-world interventions to improve screening, early detection, and management of cardio-kidney-metabolic conditions. She serves as a Providence Health System Co-Investigator for the Chronic Kidney Disease Research, Education, and Hope (CURE-CKD) Registry and chairs the Risk Factors and Complications Group for the CDC-funded Comprehensive Analysis, Surveillance, and Statistics Initiative for Diabetes in the Young (CASSIDY). She has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on federally funded and industry-sponsored projects and has authored more than 100 publications and 13 book chapters on these topics.

Dr. Alicic serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Medicine, the advisory board of Advances in Therapy (Springer Nature), and kidney- and obesity-diabetes-related work groups for the National Kidney Foundation and Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes. She is also a member of the Executive Council of the American College of Physicians, Washington Chapter.
