Mariam Pashtoonwar Butler received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 2006. She completed the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2007 and the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopedic Fellowship and Sports Rehabilitation Program in 2008. She worked at KP as a clinician for 15 years and as a mentor in their Orthopedic PT program for 13 years before joining UNACUHCP as a staff representative in 2021.

Mariam became a Scoliosis certified PT in 2016 and has been educating clinicians and treating patients with Scoliosis since. ​Mariam serves as a clinician a few hours a week helping patients with Scoliosis and is an adjunct faculty member at West Coast University since 2018 instructing DPT students in Scoliosis Rehabilitation.
