Advanced Endocrinology, Mitochondrial Health, and Toxic Mold Syndrome

St. Pete Beach, FL US
November 6, 2026 to November 8, 2026

This advanced, clinically focused continuing medical education program, sponsored by the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida, is designed for physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals seeking to expand their knowledge of the evaluation and management of complex endocrine and metabolic conditions.

Building upon foundational concepts in personalized medicine, the curriculum applies a systems-based and pathophysiology-focused approach to endocrine assessment and therapeutic decision-making. Participants will examine complex thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Graves’ disease, thyroid malignancy, and the systemic effects of thyroid dysfunction.

Additional areas of study include hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, breast cancer risk, mitochondrial dysfunction, environmental endocrine disruptors, chemical sensitivities, toxic exposures, and mold-associated illness. Complex endocrine cases will be incorporated throughout the program to explore underlying mechanisms, diagnostic considerations, laboratory assessment, and individualized approaches to patient management.

Through evidence-informed lectures and case-based clinical discussions, participants will evaluate current research, diagnostic approaches, and therapeutic considerations relevant to complex endocrine presentations. The program is structured to support the translation of current scientific and clinical evidence into individualized patient care.

Target Audience

This educational activity is designed for physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants/associates, nurses, naturopathic physicians, and other licensed or qualified healthcare professionals involved in the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with endocrine, metabolic, and complex chronic health conditions. The program is appropriate for healthcare practitioners seeking to expand their clinical knowledge of advanced endocrinology and personalized, evidence-informed approaches to patient care.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and diagnostic considerations associated with complex thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Graves’ disease, and thyroid malignancy.
  • Apply evidence-informed diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to the individualized management of complex endocrine conditions.
  • Assess the role of mitochondrial dysfunction, environmental endocrine disruptors, toxic exposures, chemical sensitivities, and mold-associated illness in endocrine and metabolic health.
  • Analyze the mechanistic drivers, diagnostic findings, and therapeutic considerations associated with hormonally mediated conditions, including thyroid disorders.
  • Evaluate current evidence regarding hormonal, metabolic, and environmental factors associated with breast cancer risk and their relevance to clinical practice.
  • Integrate clinical history, laboratory findings, environmental exposures, and patient-specific factors when evaluating complex endocrine presentations.
  • Apply case-based clinical reasoning to develop individualized diagnostic and management strategies for patients with complex or multifactorial endocrine conditions.
