Hidradenitis Suppurativa in Rheumatology: Closing Gaps in Evidence-Based Treatment and Management

September 13, 2025 to September 14, 2025

The purpose of this activity is to educate rheumatology professionals on recognizing and managing HS through evidence-based practices, and improving patient outcomes through integrated, multidisciplinary care.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of US-based rheumatology prescribing HCPs – including MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs. Since AWIR’s Summits and educational activities are also accessed by global HCPs, the secondary target audience includes ex-US rheumatology HCPs.

Learning Objectives

  • Assess the underlying and overlapping inflammatory pathways in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and rheumatic diseases
  • Recognize the impact of HS on disease-specific and patient-reported outcomes in patients with and without rheumatic diseases
  • Evaluate new and emerging treatment options for HS based on mechanisms of action, efficacy and safety data, and patient eligibility
  • Apply current evidence, patient factors, and collaborative strategies to make individualized treatment decisions for rheumatology patients with HS
