Laser and Light Course

November 15, 2026 to November 16, 2026

This comprehensive course provides medical professionals with an evidence-based foundation in laser and light medicine, combining the science of light–tissue interaction and skin biology with practical clinical application.

Participants will learn principles of patient assessment, treatment planning, device selection, risk stratification, safety, and complication prevention, with supervised hands-on training to build confidence in clinical application. The course is designed for both providers new to energy-based devices and experienced practitioners seeking to refine protocols and optimize treatment outcomes.

Emphasis is placed on integrating laser and light therapies into a safe, individualized, skin-first aesthetic practice through clinically relevant education, hands-on experience, and evidence-based decision-making.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for licensed medical professionals involved in aesthetic medicine, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and other qualified healthcare professionals who perform or are seeking training in laser and light-based treatments.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the fundamental principles of laser physics, broadband light technology, and light–tissue interaction.
  • Identify relevant cutaneous anatomy, physiology, chromophores, and Fitzpatrick skin classifications when evaluating patients for energy-based treatments.
  • Differentiate energy-based device platforms, filters, and treatment parameters based on patient characteristics, treatment goals, and targeted tissue.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for common pigmentary, vascular, and textural skin concerns using evidence-based principles.
  • Assess patients for treatment candidacy, contraindications, risk factors, and potential complications prior to treatment.
  • Apply appropriate safety principles and treatment techniques during supervised hands-on laser and light procedures.
  • Recognize potential adverse events and implement appropriate strategies for prevention and management of common complications.
  • Implement appropriate pre-treatment preparation, post-treatment care, maintenance protocols, and clinical follow-up to support safe and effective patient outcomes.
