Let's Settle This: A Filler Debate

July 20, 2026

For years, hyaluronic acid filler has been one of the most widely used tools in facial aesthetics. More recently, however, questions surrounding long-term outcomes, inflammation, migration, patient selection, and overall treatment philosophy have sparked intense discussion throughout the specialty.

In this special Iron Needle debate, Cameron Chesnut, MD and Nicola Lowry, PA-C will engage in a respectful, evidence-informed discussion on the role of hyaluronic acid filler in modern aesthetic practice. Moderated by Dr. Christian Subbio, this conversation will explore the benefits, limitations, controversies, and clinical realities surrounding facial filler treatment.

Rather than reinforcing existing opinions, the goal of this debate is to challenge assumptions, examine the available evidence, and encourage critical thinking. Whether you find your convictions strengthened or leave with a new perspective, this session promises to be an engaging exchange of ideas between two experienced voices in aesthetics.

Topics may include filler safety, inflammation, migration, patient outcomes, treatment philosophy, and the evolving role of hyaluronic acid fillers in facial rejuvenation.
