
2026 CVT Symposium: Heart of the Matter: Bridging Primary Care and Cardiology
The program brings together clinicians, cardiovascular specialists, and trainees for a full schedule of educational sessions. Topics include interpreting EKGs, managing atrial fibrillation, understanding structural heart disease, and applying new clinical trial data to everyday practice. The event features a keynote lecture, morning and afternoon learning tracks, and opportunities for networking over breakfast and lunch.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for an audience of physicians, physician associates, and nurses.
Learning Objectives
- Identify common cardiac procedures that require short-term use of anticoagulation and/or antiplatelet medications.
- Assess and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs).
- Discuss the clinical relevance of common EKG findings.
- Provide an overview of the current status and indications of various interventions for patients with structural heart disease.
- Explore the future directions of structural heart disease interventions, including emerging technologies and approaches.
- Review current evidence on the use of wearable and mobile health technologies for early detection and longitudinal monitoring of atrial fibrillation.
- Analyze the impact of smart device–generated data on clinical decision-making, including diagnosis, anticoagulation strategies, and rhythm management.
