Foundations of Dermal Filler Artistry Hands-On Course
This course is for licensed healthcare professionals who are seeking a robust training program to be safe and proficient providers of dermal fillers. This course is 3 parts, online, in person didactic and hands on skills lab. This will take place at the Face Aesthetic Institute training center in Morristown, New Jersey. You must complete all three to obtain your CEs. You must be licensed in the state of NJ to participate in the Hands-On Skills Lab.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for an audience of Physicians, Dentists, Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners who want to advance their journey in the Medical Aesthetics specialty and learn basic techniques using dermal filler.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the different layers and facial muscles in facial anatomy, as well as their roles in facial animation.
- Discuss how gender, ethnicity differences, and age-related changes in facial structure need to be considered when injecting dermal fillers
- Review the history and current application of aesthetic medicine, with a focus on dermal filler injection treatment
- Identify key components, observations, and questions that are part of a thorough medical history for a patient who will receive dermal filler injections
- Educate the patient on pre and post procedures and expectations when receiving dermal filler treatment.
- Identify appropriate medical documentation for dermal filler procedures
- Discuss storage, supplies, rheology and dosage for dermal filler injections
- Explain and demonstrate safe injection techniques of dermal fillers
