Healthcare Leadership

Designed for working healthcare professionals, this certificate offers practical examples and evidence-based content that can be applied in a structured and methodical way to quickly move from insight to action. Learning Objectives

  • Describe the concept of authentic leadership and the importance of developing an authentic and adaptive leadership identity that is true to self. 
  • Recognize the increased level and broader range of influence and impact that comes with leadership. 
  • Improve communication and collaboration through an approach that aims to form stronger relationships, increase trust, and build shared understanding. 
  • Explain the direct connection that employee engagement has on individual performance, patient safety and satisfaction and organizational outcomes, and the actions that leaders can take to positively impact engagement.
  • Use a framework to prepare for and conduct effective performance conversations that address critical issues and develop agreed upon solutions and support for moving forward. 
  • Identify techniques for creating psychological safety within teams that encourages diverse perspectives, enables dialogue, and ultimately improves performance. 
  • Recognize the leader’s role translating and connecting the strategy to the work of their teams through clear accountability, goals and performance measures. 
  • Recognize the importance of managing to budget, monitoring Key Performance Indicators, communicating deviations early, and identifying ways to positively contribute to business performance.
  • Explain how to manage both the emotional transition that people experience when change happens and a structured process that will help ensure consistency, reduce ambiguity, identify and remove obstacles, and ultimately, accelerate the change. 
  • Enhance and leverage key leadership capabilities to increase collaboration, communication and influence across a matrixed organization.
