Activity Overview
This CE activity will define implicit bias and provide the learner with an understanding of how implicit bias negatively impacts access to care, treatment, and patient outcomes. In addition, strategies to remedy the negative impact of implicit bias and reduce disparities in healthcare access and delivery also will be discussed.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify implicit bias and how it impacts access to care, treatment, and patient outcomes.
  • Summarize strategies to remedy the negative impact of implicit bias and reduce disparities in access to, and delivery of, health care services.

Criteria for Success
To obtain a certificate of completion, a score of 80% or better on the post-test is required.
