Michael Zimmerman, American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Cadiac Electrophysiology

I received my undergraduate degree at Duke University in biomedical and electrical engineering. This led me to a career in medical devices, specifically pacemakers and defibrillators. Through this experience I decided to go to medical school with the goal of becoming an electrophysiologist. I recieved my medical degree at Louisiana State University and completed residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. From there I moved to Charlottesville for fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at the University of Virginia, before ultimately settling in Charlotte with my wife and two children.
I am a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
My family I enjoy traveling and enjoy trying new restaurants. I enjoy sports and the outdoors, including running, biking, golf, basketball, softball and more recently, pickleball.
