Dr Leon is a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Pulmonology and part of the Center for Advanced Therapeutics and Powell Gene Therapy Center at the University of Florida. She completed her residency training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and her Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital. At UF she has been involved in the care of patients with neuromuscular diseases and has been part of multiple clinical trials for this population. Her main areas of research are the long-term outcomes of patients receiving novel therapies, including respiratory, swallowing and functional outcomes, as well as the immunologic responses to AAV products.
