2026 MDA Clinical & Scientific Conference

March 8, 2026 to March 11, 2026

Neuromuscular diseases (NMDs) are a large and diverse group of rare disorders with underlying genetic causes that can impose devastating effects on patients and caregivers. These diseases are difficult to diagnose, and until now, few treatment options have been available. The NMD treatment landscape continues to evolve with improved disease understanding, screening, and availability of interventional therapies. Due to the complex nature of NMDs, optimal clinical management requires care coordination among several specialists. Clinicians who encounter patients with NMDs must have up-to-date knowledge of diagnostic methods (eg, genetic testing), available therapies, and multidisciplinary approaches to ensure optimal outcomes.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician associates, physicians, and social workers.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly evolving neuromuscular treatment landscape, including screening tools and integration and management of new therapies.
  • Integrate up-to-date multidisciplinary care needs into practice, based on evolving disease understanding, guidelines, and best practices in care management and access.
  • Identify strategies to streamline care team workloads and processes to overcome challenges in funding, staffing, and rapid shifts in policies and resources.
