Born and raised in Ohio, Dr. Yanes graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University and went on to The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class, summa cum laude. He completed his residency in the prestigious Harvard Combined Dermatology Program, training with world‐renowned leaders in dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Boston Children’s Hospital. While at Harvard, Dr. Yanes received extensive training in laser surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and medical dermatology, training where many of the laser devices used today were invented, including Fraxel, VBeam, and more. After completing his training, Dr. Yanes remained on staff at Harvard Medical School before moving to Washington DC.

Dr. Yanes is the author of several textbook chapters on topics such as male aesthetics, soft tissue augmentation with filler, and lasers. He has authored numerous peer‐reviewed scientific publications in the field of cosmetic dermatology, medical dermatology, and pediatric dermatology. Dr. Yanes has several research interests including laser safety and education, male aesthetics, and the use of laser and injectables to treat medical dermatologic conditions. Dr. Yanes is a sought-after teacher and lectures nationally and internationally, and also teaches and mentors dermatology residents and medical students.
