Dr Carteron is a global expert in Sjogren's disease, a focus that began early in clinical practice and lead to co-authoring with the patient A Body Out of Balance: Understanding and Treating Sjogren's. She has held numerous leadership positions within the Sjogren's Foundation, and continues to contribute to their expansive Clinical Practice Guideline program. Dr Carteron's training in neuro-virology and cellular immunology continues to contribute to the understanding of a complex immune-mediated disease, and to numerous clinical research programs, including as a NIH Co-Investigator of the Sjogren's Team for Accelerating Medicine Partnership, Autoimmune & Immune Mediated Diseases (AMP©-AIM). Dr Carteron received her MD from Johns Hopkins, and post-graduate education from Johns Hopkins, Duke, Stanford, and University of California, San Francisco.
