Dr. Majithia is a Consultant and Division Chair of Rheumatology at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Florida. He is an adult rheumatologist and completed the rheumatology fellowship in 2003 and thereafter has been practicing in an academic setting.

Dr. Majithia was born in India and completed medical school at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science in India before moving to USA. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, and Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He graduated from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with MPH in 2012. He is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Majithia joined Mayo Clinic in Florida in January 2022 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he served as Faculty in rheumatology and internal medicine from 2004-2021, a tenured Professor and Division Director of Rheumatology from 2014 to 2021, and rheumatology fellowship Program Director from 2008-2021.

He is the principal investigator for multiple clinical trials, longitudinal studies and has published more than 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts and multiple book chapters. He has won many honors and serves on a number of intra-mural and extramural committees. His areas of expertise and research interests are Lupus, Lupus Nephritis, Spondyloarthritis and Cellular therapies. In addition to actively contributing to the rheumatology education, scholarship and research, he has been an active clinician throughout my career. He also is actively involved in philanthropy locally and with the rheumatology research foundation.
